SOLO — Industrial Engineering Study Program (PSTI) Faculty of Industrial Engineering Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Solo, Central Java, Indonesia, has international accreditation from the Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education or IABEE.

One of the advantages of the IT Study Program after applying the IABEE accreditation standard is the capstone project. This project program is intended for IT students when they enter the final semester. In this project students are divided into groups to be sent to industrial areas, for example the center of the vegetable industry in Cepogo, Boyolali, Central Java.
“Students are required to look for problems experienced by business actors there, then formulate solutions by designing tools,” he said.
Through this learning process, students can also train skills such as problem-solving, communication, and teamwork.
“Especially how to solve problems together is very important to understand the engineering design process,” he said.
Besides that, by going directly in the workplace, the campus can assess how students solve problems. Eko said that in compiling the curriculum, the study program involved industry, local government, and research institutions to formulate graduate profiles.
He said one of the profiles of graduates of the Bachelor of Industrial Engineering is that they quickly adapt to a dynamic environment.
“This is the result of input from alumni who have worked in the industry. They suggest that IT graduates must be able to respond to change. We know that the industry cannot be stagnant, but instead, it tends to change a lot,” he said.
UNS Industrial Engineering through IABEE accreditation succeeded in aligning the curriculum with industrial needs.
One of UNS IT alumnus, Benedicta Amadea, an HR Officer at PAKO Group, said that the material she has learned is very useful in the workplace.
“When we become HR, our role is to develop related human resources, because what in the workplace is the application of what I learned in college. This helps me to translate employee needs for human resource development,” she said.
Likewise Rasyid Yudhistira as the Head of the Internal Auditor Section of PT Build a Success Facility. For this job, he must have the ability to analyze both general and specific problems.
“Studying Industrial Engineering has helped me in honing these skills. The courses in Industrial Engineering, especially UNS, help students to have qualified provisions in the future job,” he said.

SOLO —Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences Economiques et Commerciales (AIESEC) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Solo mengadakan edukasi mengenai bahaya pernikahan dini di empat sekolah di Kota Solo pada awal 2023 ini.
Empat sekolah yang dimaksud adalah SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Solo, SMAN 5 Solo, SMP Kanisius 1 dan SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Solo. Edukasi tersebut merupakan rangkaian dari agenda kegiatan volunteer bernama Kids & Care 2.0 Local Project yang diselenggarakan oleh AIESEC in UNS.

AIESEC merupakan organisasi kepemudaan terbesar di dunia yang salah satunya berada di UNS. Didirikan pada 1946 setelah perang dunia ke-2, AIESEC bertujuan mengembangkan jiwa kepemimpinan pemuda dan mewujudkan perdamaian dunia.
Sebagai organisasi kepemudaan, AIESEC turut serta berkontribusi terhadap Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (TPB). Kids & Care 2.0 Local Project AIESEC in UNS mengusung tema pernikahan dini.
Tema tersebut diambil karena Indonesia menempati posisi ke-7 sebagai negara dengan kasus pernikahan dini tertinggi di dunia. Pernikahan dini tentunya juga membawa dampak yang sangat besar di kehidupan masyarakat.
Selain segi ekonomi dan sosial, pernikahan dini dinilai berbahaya terhadap kesehatan karena rentan terkena penyakit reproduksi, mental, stunting, hingga risiko kematian ibu dan anak. Kegiatan volunteer ini dilaksanakan selama empat pekan yang dimulai dari 19 Desember hingga 13 Januari secara hybrid.
Pada pekan pertama, para volunteer mendapatkan pembekalan awal yang bertujuan sebagai tempat mengenal proyek secara detail serta pengenalan lingkungan sekitar. Para volunteer mendapatkan materi berupa pengenalan TPB (Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan), Komunitas di Solo, serta pengenalan pernikahan dini.
Pada pekan ini, kegiatan dilasanakan secara daring. Kemudian, pekan kedua berfokus pada pembekalan yang membahas permasalahan pernikahan dini secara spesifik. Ada empat aspek yang dibahas, yaitu kesehatan mental, kesehatan reproduksi, kesehatan anak, hingga risiko kematian ibu dan anak.
Para volunteer dibekali ilmu yang nantinya akan diajarkan kepada siswa-siswi di sekolah. Pada pekan ketiga, para volunteer melaksanakan tugasnya untuk menyebarkan kesadaran mengenai bahaya pernikahan dini terhadap kesehatan.
Pada pekan ini, seluruh kegiatan dilaksanakan secara luring. Para volunteer disebar ke empat sekolah yang ada di Solo yaitu SMA Muhammadiyah 3, SMA N 5, SMP Kanisius 1, dan SMP Muhammadiyah 7. Kids & Care 2.0 juga melakukan kunjungan ke Yayasan Rumah Lentera sebagai aksi dukungan untuk anak-anak dengan HIV & AIDS.
Pada pekan terakhir, para volunteer mengadakan webinar yang bertajuk Impact Report. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk melatih kemampuan manajemen proyek para volunteer.
Kegiatan pada pekan ini dilaksanakan secara daring. Para volunteer membuat webinar yang menjelaskan seluruh kegiatan dan dampak yang telah dilakukan oleh para volunteer untuk lingkungan sekitar.
Sebagai pemuda dituntut sadar akan peran kita di masyarakat yaitu agen perubahan. Kids & Care 2.0 sukses mengadakan edukasi yang diikuti oleh lebih dari 800 siswa-siswi di empat sekolah. Melalui Kids & Care 2.0, diharapkan para pemuda akan terus bisa berdampak di lingkungan sekitar dalam mempromosikan bahaya pernikahan dini sebagai langkah prevetif untuk mengurangi angka pernikahan dini di Indonesia.
